My experience with Shero’s ICE IPL Hair Removal Machine

Hello there, everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted a product review on my blog and I’m excited to share this one with you.

I’ve always wanted to give an at-home IPL machine a shot for many years now and thankfully Shero has kindly decided to send me one. I’ve decided to write this review now after using it since mid-February 2022, so it’s been about 8 weeks.

Here are 4 things you need to know:

1. It really works! Better and faster for some areas.

Initially, I was a tad bit skeptical about whether or not the Shero IPL machine would work but I’ve noticed that my hair no longer grows as thick or quickly as it used to. Some areas show faster results than others.

Upper lips:

The fine hair on my upper lips stopped growing after using this machine 2 to 3 times. It’ll probably grow again rather slowly if I don’t use it but even if the hair grows, it’ll grow finer than before.

Arms:

The hair on my arms almost stopped growing and when they do grow, it’s so fine I can’t really see it.

Legs and armpits:

Unfortunately, the hair on my legs and armpits are still growing but they’re getting less course each time they grow. I was told that it’ll take a longer time for those areas so I expected that.

2. Do not use harsh chemicals on your skin before and after

Because the IPL uses light beams to destroy hair follicles (yes, your skin will feel hot), you need to make sure you don’t use any harsh chemicals like acid or vitamin C that could cause your skin to burn.

3. It only works on certain skin tone

The technology works by targetting your hair pigment to destroy it. There should be a contrast between the color of your hair and your skin for the IPL machine to be able to detect your hair in order to stun its growth. As of now, the machine works only on fair to medium skin tone. You can ask Shero’s team before you buy it to make sure it’s suitable for you.

4. Never use it on tattooed skin

Because tattoos are pigmented (usually dark in shade, just like hair), zapping tattooed areas will result in burnt skin.

All in all, I would definitely recommend Shero’s IPL hair removal machine for those who don’t want to spend thousands of ringgits getting it professionally done. What you need is a few minutes of your time twice a week and a lot of patience. The result is worth it.
